Brief
Our client approached us with a requirement for a high impact signage solution that would enhance their brand visibility, particularly during evening hours. The brief was to design and install a modern, eye-catching sign that would reflect the company identity while also being durable and low maintenance. It needed to stand out both day and night and blend seamlessly with the building’s aesthetic.
Solution
After assessing the site and discussing design preferences with the client, we proposed an illuminated tray sign with a stencil-cut logo. The tray was custom fabricated, and powder coated to ensure a sleek, weather resistant finish that would retain its appearance over time. The stencil cut logo allowed internal illumination to shine through, creating a clean and professional look with strong nighttime visibility. The lighting system was carefully integrated to provide even illumination without hotspots, and the entire sign was installed securely and aligned with the existing facade for maximum visual impact.
Wayfinding & Vinyl Supergraphics
Large vinyl supergraphics were applied throughout the school to provide intuitive wayfinding. These featured sharp, angular shapes and arrows that mirrored the building’s architectural geometry. The graphics were colour coordinated with interior walls and furnishings to create seamless visual integration. Text overlays made the direction finding functional yet dynamic.
External Signage
A key visual element was the external school’s name and logo, installed on the front elevation using a discreet rail mounting system. The rails were powder coated to match the wall finish, making them nearly invisible and giving the letters a "floating" appearance that made the branding pop. The main building name signage consisted of powder-coated aluminium flat cut letters, offering durability and a clean, high-end finish.
Acrylic Room Signs
Each room was equipped with acrylic door signs, custom cut to match the building’s angular style. These signs were colour coded according to building blocks, helping staff and students navigate the facility while reinforcing the internal zoning system.
Additional Signage Elements
Aluminium composite panels were used for various functional and directional signs around the school.
Car park signage was also supplied to assist with vehicle flow and safety.
Prior to the school’s opening, a stainless steel plaque was produced for the unveiling ceremony. The plaque was etched and infilled with the school’s name and opening details a classic, lasting feature to commemorate the occasion.
Line markings were applied in designated areas to manage foot and vehicle traffic, particularly in external car park.
Outcome
The completed sign met all the client’s expectations and more. The illuminated stencil-cut logo delivered excellent visibility both during the day and after dark, effectively enhancing the company’s presence and drawing attention from passersby.
The powder-coated finish gave the tray a premium look while ensuring long-term durability. Installation was completed on time and to a high standard, with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. The client was extremely pleased with the result and praised the quality of both the product and service. Their positive feedback reflected the success of the project in achieving its visual and functional goals.
'Having commissioned this company to make a sign for our dental surgery without any prior knowledge of them, I was more than delighted with the professional and competent way they dealt with us from start to finish.
It was a pleasure to have telephone conversations with the project manager, Dave Wing as he kept me informed and involved in the decision making and any issues that arose. The finished work was excellent and exactly to our specification as was the installation, the time frame and delivery. I highly recommend this company.'
